A developing storm system forecast to swing off the Oregon and Washington coastline on Friday will add to the region's weather woes.

"The average atmospheric river carries an amount of water vapor roughly equivalent to the average flow of water at the mouth of the Mississippi," NOAA states.

A high-end atmospheric river continued to pound Northern California on Friday on the tail end of a historic bomb cyclone.
