ISKCON member on Saturday alleged that another Hindu priest has been arrested in Bangladesh after the arrest of Chinmoy Das amid ongoing protests.

Dhaka: Amid protest over the arrest of Hindu monk Chinmaya Das, ISKCON Kolkata spokesperson Radharamn Das claimed on Saturday that two more Hindu priests were arrested in Bangladesh. He said that the two priest had gone to collect prasad and were arrested on their way back to the temple.

ISKCON is yet to issue statement. Hindu monk Chinmoy Krishna Das’s arrest in sedition case earlier this month led to widespread protests in Bangladesh.

"We strongly protest such arrests and appeal to the Bangladesh government to give protection to minorities,” claimed Radharamn Das, the vice-president and spokesperson of ISKCON.

Another Hindu priest and ISKCON member, Shyam Das Prabhu, has been arrested in Chattogram, Bangladesh, just days after the detention of spiritual leader Chinmoy Krishna Das on sedition charges. India has urged Bangladesh to ensure the protection of its minorities and fair judicial processes.

Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari, an ISKCON priest and spokesperson for the Bangladesh Sammilita Sanatani Jagran Jote, was arrested on November 25, 2024, by the Dhaka Metropolitan Police's detective branch.

His comments comes comes in the backdrop of unconfirmed reports of arrest of three more ISKCON monks, days after the arrest of spiritual leader Chinmay Das.
