The 2024 Jharkhand Assembly elections, held in two phases on November 13 and 20 across 81 constituencies, ended

Soren resigned as the chief minister, before staking claim to form the government. He will officiate as the acting chief minister till oath is administered to him on November 28.

Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren is set to resign and then seek to form the government again. This follows the victory of the INDIA bloc in the Jharkhand assembly elections. The JMM-led bloc secured 56 seats in the 81-member assembly.

Hemant Soren is scheduled to meet Jharkhand Governor Santosh Gangwar at 4 pm today, November 24, to formally stake his claim to form the government.
