The Veterans Health Administration (VHA) said a cybersecurity attack potentially disclosed protected health information for thousands of veterans.

More than 1,000 veterans with VA Amarillo will be getting letters containing details on what information was at risk, VHA said.

The Veterans Health Administration (VHA) is sending letters to 2,302 Veterans notifying them of the potential disclosure of protected health information that may have been obtained through the cyber security attack of a server managed by a contracted medical transcription vendor,

Veterans affected will receive a letter from the Veterans Health Administration detailing what information was at risk. Anyone with questions can call and leave a message at 1-844-838-5433.

Officials say hundreds of military veterans in Minnesota are among thousands around the country who had their health information targeted by a cyber security attack. The VA said the attack victimized a server managed by DBP Inc.
