The International Criminal Court (ICC) must be "just and fair" and exercise its duty "prudently", China's foreign ministry said on Thursday, in response to a query about the ICC seeking an arrest warrant for Myanmar's military leader.

ICC chief prosecutor Karim Khan alleged that Senior Gen. Min Aung Hlaing “bears criminal responsibility for the crimes against humanity of deportation and persecution of the Rohingya.”

“After an extensive inquiry, the ICC has found reasonable grounds to believe that Senior Gen Min Aung Hlaing is criminally responsible for crimes against humanity, including deportation and persecution of the Rohingya, committed with the involvement of Myanmar’s military and police forces ,” Mr Khan said.
