India’s opposition is protesting the government’s silence over allegations against billionaire Gautam Adani, who was recently indicted in the U.S. for alleged fraud and a scheme to pay bribes.

Adani Green Energy said that contrary to media reports, its chairman Gautam Adani and his aides have not been charged for violating the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.

Gautam Adani was charged with allegedly paying US$265 million in bribes related to power supply contracts in Indian states.
