Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Sunday said law enforcement had acted “with a standard higher than American and European standards” at yesterday’s protest rally in the capital Tbilisi held against the Government’s recent decision on the suspension of the country’s European Union accession talks until 2028.

For the second evening in a row, large crowds of demonstrators gathered in Georgia to protest the government's decision to halt talks toward joining the European Union. Tens of thousands gathered in the capital Tbilisi and other observers confirmed that there were significantly more demonstrators on the streets than on Thursday evening.
