Volodymyr Zelensky’s suggestion that Ukraine could temporarily cede territory to Russia in exchange for joining Nato would mark a “major concession” to Vladimir Putin, the UK’s former ambassador to Russia has said.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has put out the possibility that his country could cede territory to Russia temporarily. Zelensky has said he will give land in exchange for a NATO umbrella over the territory that Ukraine still holds.
